Addressing the tax agenda

The tax transparency agenda has moved on in the last few years far more than many expected.

Whereas tax transparency used to be a matter of voluntary disclosures by a small number of companies it is rapidly becoming a mandatory requirement for some if not all businesses.

Whether it is the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative, EU Accounting and Transparency Directives, CRD IV for banks, GRI standards for sustainable development reporting or new transfer pricing documentation rules from OECD, transparency is coming.

Businesses need to be prepared, not just to comply with new tax transparency laws, but also to understand and plan for what that transparency means for their business communications and engagement with stakeholders.
